Crooked Toes

A revelation about the linguistic origins of Chinese and Vietnamese

About

Hello. My name is Alan Nguyễn. You can call me 阮阿蘭 in Chinese, or 阮阿兰 if you prefer to use simplified characters.

For a long time, I have been researching the origins of the Chinese and Vietnamese languages. I am now at a point where I am ready to reveal what I’ve discovered. This website is where I will document what I’ve discovered. I eventually plan to gather this information into a book.

Many of my discoveries go against the current consensus of Western academia, so I expect you to be skeptical. But I also expect that my evidence will win you over. Unfortunately, it will take me a long time to transcribe all my work onto this website, so I ask you to be patient.

If you have a linguistic background, let me explain how this will go:

  1. First you’ll probably call me a crackpot whose theories are far-fetched and completely unsubstantiated, and you might even accuse me of having an ethno-nationalist agenda. (That happens a bit too often in linguistics, doesn’t it?)
  2. Then as you read further, you’ll realize that I do have a solid understanding of linguistics and that I’m not a crackpot, but you’ll think my evidence is cherry-picked, and that I’m ignoring all the evidence that supports the current consensus.
  3. Then as you read even further, you’ll realize I’m right.
